Because good ideas just don't go away..........

Here's the first five panels to a Sin City-inspired D&D Fantasy comic introducing Callen Oncedark - fighter, mercenary, brother and murder victim.

It's all rendered in Poser with no postwork whatsoever, then poured into panels and text added using Comic Life.
Enjoy.

Here's the stats for Callen Oncedark and the Troll:

Callen Oncedark
Human Fighter-10, 52hp
STR 16, DEX 14, MIND 13, Phys@14, All others@11

The Oncedark Blade: +2 Bastard Sword: +17 (1d10+7) plus other powers to be revealed
Dark Half-Plate: AC 23 plus other powers to be revealed

Cave Troll Sentry
HD 8, 40hp. AC 21. Bite or Claw +13 (1d8+5). STR20, DEX 11, MIND 7. Phys@11, All others@8

As I introduce new creatures and characters, I'll post up full M20 stats, though reserve the right to hold back a few secrets :)

Daemonshade Snakes
HD 4, 20hp. AC13 special. Bite +7 (1d3 special). STR none, DEX 16, MIND 8. Sub@7, All others@4


Daemonshade Snakes can only be harmed by Magical or Holy weapons. Magical weapoons do only their enhancement bonus in damage (so a +1 longsword will only do 1 point of damage per hit), but Holy weapons deal full damage.
A Daemonshade's bite ignores all armour and protection except Holy armour - against this attack your AC is 10+DEX bonus.
Damage from their Bite cannot be healed naturally, and cannot be cured by spells unless cast by a Cleric of at least 8th level.


Daemonshade Snakes are neither demons, nor snakes. They are creatures from the Plane of Shadow given snake-like form by the minds of their summoners, and are commonly found in nests of 4 or more. They require no sustenance other than the shadows they call home, and are eager to defend these spaces from any intrusion. Their attacks are insubstantial as their bodies and inject raw shadowmatter into the victim's bloodstream where it rapidly spreads. Only a powerful Cleric is able to reverse this damage.

Daemonshade Snakes are nasty! It's no surprise Callen was scared. They ignore armour and most damage from even magical weapons, and their damage can't be healed with a quick Cure Light Wounds Potion. Ouch.

The next series of pages are ready and I'll be posting one page up every two days. Tomorrow, I'll work on putting a subsite together to hold the full series. It's turning into quite a fun little project!
